A Step of Faith

Water Baptism

Water Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision to follow and trust Jesus. Just as Jesus was baptized, we take this step to follow His example and identify with His death, burial, and resurrection.

At Iglesia Tampa Bay, we believe water baptism is a public declaration of three powerful truths:

  • You are a follower of Jesus Christ.
  • You are beginning a new, transformed life in Him.
  • You are part of a family of faith.
Ready to Take the Step?

We’re Excited to Celebrate With You!

We’re honored to walk beside you as you take this meaningful step in your faith journey. Baptism is more than a moment—it’s a declaration that your story is being rewritten by God’s grace.
To celebrate this step, Iglesia Tampa Bay hosts special Baptism Sundays, dedicated to honoring what God is doing in your life and our community.

Have Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

We know baptism is a big decision, and you might have some questions about what it means or what to expect. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive about baptism at Iglesia Tampa Bay. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident, prepared, and supported as you take this important step.

Why be baptized?

Baptism is a response to salvation—it’s how we publicly declare that Jesus is Lord of our lives. It’s a moment of obedience, celebration, and transformation.

It symbolizes dying to your old life and being raised to new life through Christ (Romans 6:4). It’s an outward sign of what God has already done in your heart.

If you were baptized before making a personal decision to follow Jesus, or if you now feel a renewed commitment to your faith, you may choose to be baptized again as a reaffirmation of your walk with Christ.

Absolutely! We encourage children who understand the meaning of baptism and have chosen to follow Jesus to take this step. Our pastors can help guide families through that conversation.

We dedicate infants to the Lord rather than baptize them. This dedication is a beautiful moment for parents to commit to raising their children in the ways of God until they’re old enough to make that decision for themselves.
